本展は、伝統的な日本絵画の技法と現代的なアイデアを融合させ、「過去と現代をつなぐ時間と情景」を探求する展覧会です。1962年、アメリカ合衆国大統領ジョン・F・ケネディは「We choose to go to the Moon.」と語り、そのビジョンは1969年のアポロ11号による月面着陸によって実現しました。月は古くから、神話や芸術表現を通して、人類の想像力を喚起し続けてきた存在です。日本の山水画は、現実の風景を超えた理想郷や精神的世界を描いてきました。本展に並ぶ作品群は、まだ見ぬ宇宙を理想化された風景として再解釈し、歴史的技法と現代的な志向を結びつける「現代の山水画」を提示します。

This exhibition explores time and landscape as a bridge between the past and the present by integrating traditional Japanese painting techniques with contemporary ideas.In 1962, U.S. President John F. Kennedy declared, “We choose to go to the Moon.”This vision was realized in 1969, when the Apollo 11 mission successfully landed humanity’s first astronauts on the lunar surface. Since ancient times, the Moon has continued to inspire human imagination through myth and artistic expression. In Japanese landscape painting, artists have depicted ideal realms and spiritual worlds that transcend physical reality.
The works presented in this exhibition reinterpret the yet-unseen universe as an idealized landscape, proposing a form of contemporary sansui painting that connects historical techniques with modern aspirations.
